Properties & Traditions
Clear quartz is found the world over, yet many of us want ours to come from somewhere, to hold a stone and feel thin, cold mountain air behind it. Himalayan quartz is clear quartz from the high ranges of Nepal and northern India, and it tends to grow in clusters of many slender points rather than as single large crystals. The pieces often carry a faint tint, a blush of peach or pink, or the soft grey-green of chlorite. It is the same clear quartz found everywhere, with the same six-sided points; what makes it special is simply where it grew. Quartz itself has a long story, the ancients' ice, but this named mountain variety is recent, and its name comes from the trade rather than from any older tradition.

Modern practice links Himalayan quartz to the Crown Chakra of the Hindu and Vedic chakra system, as it does all clear quartz, a stone that answers to every centre at once.

In crystal practice today, it carries everything clear quartz is known for, amplification, clarity and cleansing, and we turn to it for meditation spaces and for the stillness of a quiet hour, a calm, steady presence wherever it lives in the home.
Our team's experience
A Himalayan quartz cluster is a landscape in itself: dozens of pale points rising together at different heights like a small range of peaks, some glassy, some frosted, often with the softest blush of pink across their faces. Big clusters have real presence, and we find ourselves leaning in to look. The points are slender, the clusters heavy and cool. It suits a meditation space or a quiet corner beautifully, and anyone who loves clear quartz and wants a piece with a sense of place.
How our customers use it
A Himalayan quartz cluster usually becomes the heart of a room, set on a sideboard, an altar or a meditation table where its many points can catch the morning light. Many people use a cluster to clear and freshen a space, or nestle smaller stones among its points to rest. Some are drawn to it for its mountain origin, keeping it where their practice has its roots. It is usually chosen once and kept for a very long time.
Care notes
Himalayan quartz is hard and stable (Mohs 7) and easy to care for. Cleanse with running water, sound, moonlight, or smoke, and let clusters dry fully between the points. Handle by the base rather than the tips, which can chip, and dust gently with a soft brush.
