Frequently Asked Questions
A few things people often ask us. If your question is not here, we would love to hear from you: email info@eternalspirit.com.au or call 0434 549 194 during trading hours.
In the shop
Where are you?
You will find us at 52 Unley Road, Unley, South Australia 5061, a short drive south of Adelaide's city centre. We have been part of the Adelaide community since 1997.
What are your opening hours?
Our trading hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, Adelaide time. We are closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays.
How do I get in touch?
Email us at info@eternalspirit.com.au or call 0434 549 194 during trading hours. You're also always welcome to come in and see us.
What do you sell?
Crystals in every form, from tumbles to towers, plus crystal jewellery, tarot and oracle cards, incense and smudging supplies, singing bowls, salt lamps, spiritual books, journals, and gifts. Everything online comes from the same shelves as the shop.
Is everything on the website in the shop too?
Yes. Everything on our website is on the shelves in the shop, because it all comes from the same place. You will often find even more with us in person, as new arrivals reach the shop floor first and join the website once we have photographed them and written up their details. So anything you have seen online will be here waiting, and there is always more to discover when you visit.
Ordering and payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay and Afterpay. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Do you have a rewards program?
Yes. You earn points on your purchases and can put them towards a future order. Points are earned on full-priced items, including during our sales, though the sale items themselves sit outside the program so we can keep those prices as low as possible. Just ask us in store or by email, and we can let you know your balance.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, online and in-store, starting at $50. They make a lovely gift when you are not quite sure which crystal is the right one.
Will the crystal I receive look exactly like the photo?
Crystals are made by the earth, not a factory, so colour, pattern, shape and size vary from piece to piece. Unless a listing says it is for the exact pictured piece, the photo is a faithful guide rather than the very item you will receive. Part of the joy is meeting the one that comes to you.
How are your crystals priced?
Tumbled stones have one flat price each. Larger natural pieces such as chunks, points and clusters are priced by size or weight, and one-of-a-kind pieces such as spheres and carved hearts carry their own individual price.
Shipping and delivery within Australia
How much is shipping within Australia?
Standard shipping is a flat $11 anywhere in Australia, and Australian orders of $125 or more ship free. Express shipping is $16 on any order. A few very large pieces are the one exception, explained just below.
How does free shipping work, and what about very large pieces?
Free standard shipping applies to Australian orders of $125 or more, counted after any discounts have been applied. A handful of very large or heavy items, such as amethyst caves, big clusters and salt lamps, cannot travel as an ordinary parcel, so we arrange their freight with you directly, or you are welcome to collect them in store. You will see this noted on those pieces.
How long will my order take to arrive?
As a guide, standard parcels reach metro addresses within 2 to 5 business days and regional addresses within 4 to 7, and express is usually a day or two faster. These are estimates, and busy times can stretch them a little.
Who delivers my order, and can I track it?
Australia Post, and every parcel carries a tracking number that is emailed to you automatically. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to start showing movement.
When do you post orders?
We pack and post on our trading days, Tuesday to Saturday. Orders placed between Saturday and Monday are packed and sent our next trading day, Tuesday, and all other orders leave within one to two business days. We do not post on public holidays, so an order placed on one leaves on the next trading day.
Will someone need to be home for delivery?
Australia Post will leave your parcel at your address whether or not someone is home, unless you ask for signature on delivery. If you would like a signature required, add a note at checkout.
Can I collect my order from the shop?
Yes, and click and collect is free. Choose it at checkout, and we will have your order ready, usually within a few hours on a trading day, and email you when it is ready. Bring your ID or order confirmation and come in during trading hours. We hold orders for 14 days, or longer if you let us know.
Can I buy a crystal singing bowl online?
Our crystal singing bowls are available in-store only for now. We would rather place one in your hands than trust it to a courier. If you have seen a bowl online or want to know what is on the shelf, call us on 0434 549 194, and we will help.
Delivery overseas
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and South Korea. If your country is not shown at checkout, email us and we will see what we can do.
How much is international shipping?
It is calculated by weight at checkout and travels with Australia Post International Standard, with tracking. Free shipping applies within Australia only.
How long does international delivery take?
As a guide, and on top of our processing time, parcels take around 5 to 8 business days to New Zealand, 5 to 10 to Asia, 5 to 9 to Canada, and 7 to 11 to the United Kingdom. These are estimates, and busy periods can stretch them.
Will I pay duties or taxes?
Yes. Any import duties, customs charges and local taxes are set by your country and are yours to pay. They are not included in your order.
Do you ship to the USA or mainland Europe?
Not at present. If your country is not offered at checkout, you are very welcome to email us.
Returns and guarantees
What if my order arrives damaged?
Email info@eternalspirit.com.au within 3 business days of Australia Post recording your parcel as delivered, with a photo and your invoice number, or bring it into the shop with your receipt, and we will make it right.
Can I return something if I change my mind?
We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, including Afterpay purchases and sale items, so please do choose with care. If an item is faulty or not as described, your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply, and we will look after you.
Is your jewellery guaranteed?
Yes. Our jewellery carries a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing faults. Everyday wear and tear, accidents and misuse are not covered, but we can often still repair a well-loved piece and will agree the cost with you first. You cover posting the piece to us, we cover its return, and repairs usually take 4 to 12 weeks.
What if my item sells out after I have ordered?
Because our online and in-store stock come from the same shelves, occasionally a piece finds its home with someone at the counter at the same moment you order it online. If that happens, we will let you know straight away, and you can choose a full refund, or let us help you find a similar piece.
Are your crystals a medical treatment?
No. Our crystals, and everything else we sell, are spiritual and decorative goods, companions to your own practice and intention. Nothing we say is medical advice, and if you are unwell, please see a qualified health professional.
Looking after your crystals
How do I choose the right crystal?
Trust your intuition. Many people find they are drawn to the crystal they need. You might choose by what you are seeking, perhaps rose quartz for love, amethyst for calm, citrine for a sense of abundance, or by your birthstone, or simply by the one that catches your eye. Browse by intention on the website, or come in and our team will happily help you find your piece.
How do I cleanse my crystals?
Many people like to cleanse their crystals regularly to clear the energy they gather. Popular ways include smudging with white sage or Palo Santo, resting them in moonlight, a brief rinse under cool water for the stones that are water-safe, or the sound of a singing bowl. Every crystal on our website has its own care and cleansing notes on its page, so it is worth a quick read for the stone you have in mind, as some don't take kindly to water or strong sun. It is a lovely ritual to cleanse a new crystal when you first bring it home, then as often as feels right to you.
How do I charge or set an intention with a crystal?
After cleansing, some people charge a crystal in gentle sunlight for a little while, mindful that stones such as amethyst and rose quartz can fade in strong sun, or leave it out under the moon overnight. To set an intention, hold the crystal in your hands, take a quiet moment, and name what you would like it to keep with you.
How should I store and care for my crystals?
Keep crystals out of long direct sunlight if they are prone to fading, like amethyst and rose quartz. Store softer stones apart so they don't scratch one another, and handle delicate ones gently. With crystal jewellery, take it off before you swim, shower or exercise, to protect both the stone and its setting. Each crystal's page on our website includes its own care notes, so do check there for anything specific to the piece you are looking at.
About our crystals
Are your crystals natural and ethically sourced?
Yes. We sell genuine, natural crystals, and we care about where they come from, working with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to fair and responsible sourcing. Some stones are commonly heat-treated or dyed to bring out their colour, which is a normal part of the trade, and where that is, we say it on the piece. If you would like to know more about a particular stone, just ask our team.
Do you sell man-made or lab-grown crystals?
No. We decided many years ago not to stock them. They can look lovely, but they are essentially glass, and for us, a crystal's value is in the real thing. We are happy to stock genuine crystals that have been heated or dyed, since that only enhances how a natural stone looks. The lab-grown stones we do not carry include Opalite, and brown, orange and green Goldstone.
Why do you use common crystal names instead of trademarked ones?
Some crystals carry a trademarked name simply because they come from one particular mine, even when the stone is mineralogically identical to one you already know by its everyday name. We think a crystal should be called by its proper, widely known name. If two stones are the same thing, it seems only fair to call them the same thing, so that is what we do.
Do you sell Doreen Virtue books and oracle cards?
Sadly, we can't. Doreen Virtue was once a well-known author in the new age world, but some years ago her beliefs changed, and she discontinued all of her titles, so they are no longer in print. A brand new copy is very hard to find now, though you may come across a second-hand one somewhere online. We are sorry we cannot help with these, and we wish you luck finding the title you are after.
