Because of its recent discovery, pink amethyst has no significant presence in the older traditions; its place in crystal practice is entirely modern.

Pink Amethyst is hard and stable (Mohs 7), and easy to care for. Cleanse with running water, sound, moonlight, or smoke. The pink colour, like the purple of standard amethyst, will slowly fade under strong direct sunlight, so a shaded display position is preferable.
