Properties & Traditions
Shattuckite is for the times you need to find your voice and trust it, when you want to say a true thing clearly and kindly. It is a deep blue stone valued in crystal practice for clear, truthful communication and for strengthening intuition. Its colour ranges from soft sky blue to a rich, deep blue, often fibrous or mottled, sometimes intergrown with other copper minerals that lend it patches of green or turquoise. It is a copper silicate, and it takes its name from the Shattuck mine in Arizona where it was first identified. Its place in crystal practice is wholly modern, too recent to carry ancient tradition, and it stays relatively obscure, valued chiefly by those who have come to know it.

It is associated with the Throat Chakra, the centre of honest expression, and with the Third Eye Chakra, the seat of insight and intuition.

In the modern crystal healing tradition, shattuckite is turned to for truthful communication and a calm, clear connection to one's own intuition, sometimes thought of as a stone that helps a person speak with both honesty and kindness. It is known for steadying the voice and for clear, grounded perception rather than anxious guessing. Its associations are thinly recorded compared with the better-known blue stones; people come to shattuckite for its deep blue beauty and its quiet link to voice and intuition more than for any long tradition.
Our team's experience
Shattuckite is a deep, satisfying blue, sometimes rich and solid, sometimes streaked with green where copper minerals have grown alongside it. It is one of the less common stones we carry, so most people are meeting it for the first time, and they usually take a moment over the colour. It feels smooth and cool, a little soft to the touch. We suggest it to people working on finding their voice, or wanting to trust their intuition a bit more.
How our customers use it
Shattuckite often goes to people wanting to speak more clearly and truthfully, who keep a piece close before conversations that matter or while doing work that asks them to find the right words. Many hold it during intuitive or reflective practice, others keep it in a workspace where communication is the daily task. Some are drawn simply to its deep blue colour. It is a popular companion stone for communication and intuition intentions, especially for people wanting something a little less common.
Care notes
Shattuckite is soft (Mohs 3.5-4) and contains copper, so keep it dry and avoid water, which can affect it over time, along with harsh chemicals. Cleanse with sound, smoke, or moonlight. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, and store it gently away from harder stones.
